the 600w on the microwave is its cooking power not the current it draws
Yes I understand you would need a 1200w inverter to run a 600w microwave.
Waveboxes seem to be quite cheap and would appear to do the job, never used one though but here’s one…
Had one for 2 yrs now fitted in truck not at my exspence. Soon get ■■■■■■ off with micro meals hardly use it now. Think before you waste your money and those cheap ones aint worth it take forever to cook anything
I’d be very careful, when it comes to microwave in cab, get some advice from a auto electrician, or someone in the know, everyone I know who’ s got one, run it straight of the batteries through an inverter, don’t whatever you do take your power off your cig lighter socket, I’ve heard of cases, where it burnt the wiring loom out, you’ll not be very popular if you do that chap…
1600 watt invertor off ebay about £80 (1000 w continuous) cheap £35 microwave (Tesco, argos, asda etc) mine is wired from the main power input to the fuse box on the scania or wire it directly to the batteries using an anderson plug. Works a treat get some ready meals from tescos, etc nice hot meal on a cold day.
Also when not using the microwave you can use the invertor to power laptop etc.
Never had a problem with batteries either.
