Modified sine, and cheap microwave, would be fine. 24v microwaves are fairly crap compared to proper ones.
Not sure I agree with the last bit mate.
It’s like everything else, it depends on quality and make.
I ran the same 24v Samsung microwave in about 10 different trucks for around 16 yrs untll it went.
I’m now using a household microwave with a 3000w inverter that I bought off Harry on here about a year ago, which is still.working fine.
My biggest problem was finding a microwave small enough in size to fit into the crappy overhead cupboard in the Actros.
which microwave did you find to fit as I am after one for my actros ?

Just Google Daewoo 600w compact microwave for model no.
They’re designed for small kitchens or caravans.
They’re about 70 quid, but I was lucky as I found one on Gumtree boxed up unused for 20.
Every other (afaik) are too big for an Actros cupboard, so it’s an under the passenger seat job otherwise, even that one is a tight squeeze.
peirre:
It’s a Daewoo QT1 that he should be looking for, Asda Direct have them occasionally
That’s the one, it’s QT1, 2 and 3 I think, different number = different colour, white, green or pink.
It is a good little microwave but obviously takes a little bit longer than a higher wattage one.
However you mention Asda, but when I enquired at Asda at the time they told me they no longer sold them.

Well I felt I had to mate tbh,… it enhances the ambience created by my tassled curtains and colour co.ordinated tie backs.
I don’t just throw things together you know

My Samsung was about 300 quid all those years ago, so same difference I reckon with inflation etc, …but why are they so bloody expensive ffs??
They’ve got to be artificially inflated at that sort of money (a bit like those bloody overpriced truck sat nav things in fact, in comparison to a car one )
In some shops you can buy a bog standard household 240v microwave for about 30 quid, if on offer.
Surely they don’t cost that much extra to manufacture.

Dont cost anymore going bybthe one linked to. Looking at that one its £528 for a 450w microwave and prob 800W / 1000W 12v inverter max.
Thats basically a 30 quid mains powered microwave unheardof brand which isn’t even digital and remotely close to the 800W standard for most modern microwaves. Plus a cheapo inverter which will be modified sinewave and only 12v so maybe £60 or so at retail. Doesnt include the cables either.
Essentially a £100 max retail package for 528 quid… not bad markup. Certainly not a replacement for the Samsung as it claims.

Thats what you get from Daf when you spec a microwave, its not 24v anymore like the samsung used to be, just a low powered houseld job , to be fair though it does what it needs to very well
