i would have given him the keys and said : There ya go sunshine…its all yours.

dozy:
here you go another week as stobarts most fuel efficient driver

Overall 383th. Yeah, I was around there without giving a ■■■■ about it and I got class 1 a year ago  I cant be bothered about it too much since once I went down to Rugby from Manchester and registered 0% cc and two other categories :open_mouth: How accurate it is when it sometimes probably ignores just a little, unnoticeable amount but still makes your score worse? Maybe usable to find completly idiot drivers but otherwise its a pile :imp:

The Scania I drive has a very poor cruise control system…

It switches off and goes to neutral a lot of the time, especially when nearing the top of a hill. Now a days I just sit with my foot to the floor, I don’t do long trunks, thank God as it annoys the hell out of me.

If you mean eco roll you can put it in performance mode so it doesn`t use it.

Could play them and say could you take the truck out and I’ll sit on the passenger seat and watch how you do it. Then if they reply “i cant drive them” or “you’re the driver” you’ve got them over a barrel.

Rob K:
Does the system take into consideration whether you’re running loaded or empty? No it does not.

Actually it does. It “knows” if you are heavily loaded using the same systems that tell it how much pressure was needed in the airbags to maintain the ride height as well as a few others. Those same systems allow the transmission to select the appropriate gear when moving off from a standstill. It’s certainly not foolproof, but it’s an awful lot more clever than you give it credit for.

My own experiences differ. The power gets cut in the exact same place regardless of whether you’re running at max weight or empty so it doesn’t take a genius to figure out that the system does not factor your running weight into its equations. But even if it did, unless it has a built-in anemometer as well, the end result would still be same once you emerge from the cutting and are hit by the strong winds.

I had a new one last week, wondered why it kept knocking off before it got to top of hill, doesn’t seem to read the terrain properly when fully loaded, had to jump back on accelerator to drag it up.
