If you’re on about the one at withnell stay well clear!
tipped in there last week and they say it’s garbage!
although there’s a nice 13 plate new actros stood there with NO DRIVER should tell you something!
It must be bad if our foreign friends won’t do it…
I worked for the company that did thier transport at the Ilkeston depot.
the job is transporting trusses and joists to new build housing estates, using a step frame trailer with a central spine down the length.
average 3 or 4 drops a day…and once you get to know the sites, the job becomes easier.(eg.the sites on the a41 between Bicester and Aylesbury have been going years)
drops are loaded in packs and are tied to the spine so that the whole lot doesn’t fall off when you take the straps off.
loads are quite often over 16 foot high and will have single use strops attached.it will be your job to hook the strops over the forks(telehandler) when on site so climbing skills come in handy.
quite often loads will hang off the back of the trailer…so hammer and nails come in handy for attaching trailer/marker boards.
it takes time to strap the load down correctly, and is a bit of a pain after each drop.
no back loads
edited to add…be careful you dont get knocked off when the forks take the weight, and don
t put your arms and legs anywhere they can get trapped
