does anyone have any pictures of the mercedes sk series interior
have a look in the TRANSPORT PHOTO FORUM (MEMBERS ONLY)
there is a posting on v8 sk mercs,
there you go
just what i was looking for. Thats pretty much what i remember from going in my dads wagon as a kid only difference is his had a black mat type flooring rather than the carpet
Have a look at page 2 of this thread, our 1628s
Blimey, those pics bring back memories.
Not good ones . . i drove a 1729 (powerdontmakemelaughliner) for a while
i remember my old man having a 1633 merc twin turbo from new in 1983 which had a button under the accelerator, when you pressed the accelerator all the way down you would feel and here the button click then a yellow light came on the dashboard saying power,
then you feel and hear that second turbo whistle ,
i can remember one night him having it off the clock fully freighted running with some paddys on dukes.
here i found some on another post last night i have spent hours trying to find pictures like this my dad had an brand new e reg 2035 powerliner and the interior is exsacly the same apart from the gear stick
and more
me dad use to ave a 1617 ridgid on containers years ago only ad the one bunk so i ad to sleep across seats then l8r e got a 2035 i did like these mercs !!!
Should have gone top to toe.
Looking at the photos, some of them seem to have a higher, stepped, engine hump. Was this to allow space for the turbochargers/intercooler pipes on the later versions?

Normally to allow drivers seat to go all the way back/recline otherwise when it went up and down on its suspension it fouled the bunk.
On the 1633 the power button under the throttle pedal had nothing to do with the turbos (both of which worked all the time,as on any V8 mercedes with turbos)
but was actually to overide the revs restrictor, that blocked you getting higher than IIRC 1800rpm when in high range in the ZF gearbox.
