i start work next week driving a merc roll on roll off skip truck for a building firm.i have drove a drops vehicle in the army and im hoping this one will be more or less the same?has anyone got any good tips for me.

If they’re both hydraulic hook loaders then the basic principles should be the same.
Don’t leave the yard till you’re confidant you can operate all functions of both the net & the hook. For the first few lifts at least, get out & check the hook is fully engaged & make sure the clamps have grabbed the bin before moving off.
NEVER stand behind the door when opening one to tip & double check the door lock has shut properly.
You’ll need at least a 5lb lump hammer & a 3’ crowbar.

Don’t drive on the road with your hook in the air, it only takes a few seconds to stow it properly.
I see so many Cowboys in a hurry with it in ‘space’
