Mercedes cruise control

They limit them to 52.8 so you dont get sea sick driving it. Anything over and above is like being on the high seas in winter.

Quinny:
My gaffer is in the market for a minimum of 4 new trucks, and we had Merc in during the week, and I asked the salesman about this 52.8 malarky, and he said that Merc have done away with it and now all new ones are at 56.

Ken.

Surely it’s down to the company buying them as to where the limiter is set?

It is, but the factory used to set the cc at 52.8. I remember driving some of the first ones at 63 plate, and thought, wtf? but now the factory set them at 56, so he told me.

If what you say is true then I look forward to driving our new (mirrorless :unamused: ) ones at 56 unless they spec them still for 52.8 :unamused:
It really comes to something when a Tosco leaves you standing :unamused:

Unless they have changed since they got bought out, Keedwell’s used to be limited to 52.8 as Stuart (is that right?) thought it was more economical

Actrosman is this figure correct?

53 definitely gives a better fuel return over the 56 ours are now capable of doing, especially if you have all day to run on the CC/auto economy…the only thing is when going down hill with a bit of weight on (eg M4 W/B j18 or down from j20 to the 48 split) it likes to come down into 10th to hold it back…works well but mind the revs hitting the top side of the yellow!! One thing I have only just discovered with the CC is if you tap & hold the set or resume button, it adjusts the speed in 5kmh increments or for me, 83-80-75 And vice versa…only been driving it since brand new & it’s a 15 plate! As mentioned above somewhere about cab ‘bouncing about’, we have the ‘sports setting’ as factory standard so it’s not a problem for us!
