Now THAT’S a very rare sight: you almost never see a Mercedes NG with Trilex steers anywhere in the world. A very smart outfit indeed, if I may say so! Robert

Here’s a few more Aussies… These are at Whites Diesel in QLD… Price tags of around $20000 AUD. the older ones are on Spyder wheel centers, the later on Alloy Rims. The older Mercedes Light bumpers were not common here as they all wanted double headlights, so went for a bespoke Australian quad light bumper.

Kicking myself now but last week I was in maritimes containerbase in Leeds and a well scruffy sk pulled in next to me and I forgot to get a photo of it. Still sounded alright even if it was a bit rusty.
Back in the late nineties I drove one occasionally that was on hire to the firm I worked for (taylors of martley) and always liked it once I’d got my head round the eps so when MB tried to get some more business from taylors who were Scania people by selling them the new actross with its all new teligent (spelling?) gearbox I ended up with it because everybody else hated it. After having a p cabbed 320 Scania as my regular ride the merc 1840 was complete luxury and I loved it.

P.s I don’t know how true it is but at the time I was told p585 vnp was the second actross registered in the u.k, certainly was one of the first being a p reg as there was still sk’s on p plates.

A Taylor’s man eh. Small world, I used to live not too far from you in between Tenbury Wells and Leominster! At least there’s still plenty of SK’s over there. There’s not too many here! Just getting my head around my smaller MK.

Anyway… Does anyone over there know a decent Merc Breakers? I’m after a few parts, including a pair of these step rings… They are the slimmer type to suit the Hub Reduction Front Axle (not the standard wheel ring that are common). If anyone knows for a set, I have an address in Herefordshire they’d need to go to. Happy to pay for them and postage/transport etc…

Will do, and likewise!

Have truck, will play! Moss Rocks first, then a workshop to erect and a septic tank to collect and fit, and probably several tonnes of timber to collect and store, then it’ll be on with the Overland Body build!

That 1844 was a cracking motor when I had it. Pulled like a train and had a rather generous limiter on it. Only downside ws the window in the roof above the driver’s door leaked like a ■■■■■■■ in heavy rain.

Monaco
best shot I could get it was really crammed in

Could a moderator right it please.
