That one looks beautiful!

Hi jorg,
Thanks for your comment.the truck is owned by my friend mark lonergan,a haulier based in Dublin.mark imported the truck from Italy, she is a 1976 model v10 1632 ng.your right,it is beautiful and in my opinion unique.
Regards andrew.
hi,
thanks, don’t know anything about it tbh.i saw the photos on a mercedes ng and sk Facebook page.i haven’t seen that truck at any shows that i have attended.thats a fairly early one in the uk and very nice.
regards andrew.
This was one of the first 2033 imported to the UK, number 7 if I remeber correctly…
My Dad bought it from Biss vehicles at bishops stortford, brand new !
I
He was deeply deeply disappointed with it, it burnt oil like it was going out of fashion…
He bought a couple more mercs after this one however, one being a 2028, a true old plodder that gave no grief whatsoever. Then a 1729 “powerliner!!!”
I think I have a foto of it somewhere… I’ll try and upload it…
Andrew, your Merc looks the business there mate. Spot on as always.
How I wish I had taken photos of my two 2035s on E plates, they were identical in every way except for their reg numbers. The standard white cab with red lines, post office red chassis, special metallic silver rims and bumper. Black mudguards and wings.
Double shifted, gave little trouble. A little heavy tare wise, and could be thirsty if not driven properly otherwise good motors.

If this 1632 was first registered in Italy, I wonder if it has the uprated 354bhp Italian spec engine rather than the 320 the rest of the world got. Now a right hand drive, drawbar, 354bhp that is a rarity.
In fact Pete359 you’ve got another one there which must have a back story. That very smart unit in Newbys colours, going by the suspension and exhaust is a 1619, but the 1619 was only listed with either the S day cab or the M short sleeper, but this unit has the unavailable L cab.
Well, I stumbled across a Mercedes 1222A a few weeks ago, in a yard in Tamworth NSW… Ex Telstra Phone company… So after parting with some cash, and then taking a long drive back to The Barossa, I now have my on Mercedes sat in the yard!! 4x4, V6, Hi and Low box, and diff locks front and back.
