Mercedes axor,back pain,leg pain...its a pain in the arse!

Poor whoosh cheap axors and now Isotrak job is going to ■■■■ :imp:

I drive one every day, and although they aint the best they are a vast improvement from the previous model.

I find the seat quite good the engine cover is quite wide, when in top gear try putting your left foot behind your right. Avoid the auto version at all cost, a truly dreadful motor.

I’ve had on since last November - Actros replaced with it :frowning:

On the up side - it pulls the pants of the Actros; much better torque (2543 Axor vs 2544 Actros)

On the down side - just about everything else! Very uncomfortable. No legroom, seat too high, excellent seat but in the wrong place. Why have a manouvering system (never use it) but no ASR anti wheel spin (don’t use that either, but nice to know it’s there when roaads are slippery).

Right shin battered from bamging it on the step/trim.

HORRIBLE :imp: :imp: :imp:

I had 1 on hire for a week a couple of years ago. it was the most uncomfortable thing ive ever driven or slept in. Bad back from seat and bed and sore shins from wacking the bloody stairs every time i got in. on the upside the steering was light.

The leg pain and lower back pains sound familiar to me, but it wasn’t the more recent AXOR that caused it, but the older Actros with that sad tiptronic pile of (zb) in place of a gearbox, they where uncomfortable motors, hard seating and bunks, the one that was literally a pain in the ■■■ to drive for me even came complete with defunct cruise control, which after driving some 400miles ain’t good, i think that the germans built them like that to get us back, lol

You might not agree with this then

The Axor is a finalist for fleet truck of the year.

I’m surprised no one has mention the extremely annoying ‘seat belt warning’ that activates even when you are reversing @ 1 mile per hour! :imp:

Unless of course you just plug it in and sit on it

I’ve had Axors for the past 5 years and my current one (from new '57 plate) is great. Yes the std ‘pov spec’ seat is crap and it’s given me a few aches and pains but I love it. I’m 6’5" too. Always pulls well and has never let me down.

i like mine, 57 plate, auto and with the comfy seat. pulls well too, seat buzzer disconnected. im 6,3 and no probs with the space available in the drivers seat.
