Mercedes Atego 7.5 ton cig lighter

Does anyone know the voltage of the cig lighter in this truck.
Thanks

24v, the one I drove was, I put a dropper in to be able to use 12v stuff

Get yourself a little voltage tester, they cost less than a tenner, then you can be safe rather than sorry.

Thanks guys.

Wondered why it fried my 12 volt to 240 volt converter.

Anyone know where i can get a dropper from, i will be travelling down the m1 later on tonight.
Thanks

pretty much any MSA garage on the M1 then

Wise words Willy!

A couple of years back I had a Merc 1823 Twin Sleeper, with 24V socket and a 12V obvious after market next to it. Went out double crewed for the first time with a young local lad after stopping for the night he walks down to the services for some bits and comes back with one of those £30 black and white telly’s.

To Cut a long story short he plugs it in the 12V tunes into the football happy as Larry while I read my book. 15 mins later smoke pours from this telly and a small flame appears so out the window it goes sharpish. Needless to say the 12V was 24V and wired straight from the other lighter socket.

ALways check them now before plugging my telly in

done the same thing only it brightened the picture then a load bang, pulled the plug straight away, checked every thing only to find the wires the wrong way round.

still working at the mo

If you have a 12v radio cd/player, wire the extra socket to the droper thats is going to it.
