on my atego 53 plate my gear box is stiff when it gets warm, after its cooled down its ok.
anyone have any ideas on the problem.

Anybody checked the oil level inside the box? Could be that’s it’s low & the heat build up is causing the internal parts to swell.

Get a sample of the oil sent off for analysis, most of the big oil companies have this facility, the report you get back will tell you the levels of contaminants & wear metals in the oil, it may forewarn you of an impending expensive breakdown & if it’s not too late use a synthetic oil, it’s much better stuff & in a gearbox it should last the lifetime of the box 
i though all them atego gearboxes were stiff 
Must be a thing with Mercs, our sprinters are almost impossible to get in gear when they are cold

My gearbox was very stiff after getting new clutch ,thought it was just because it was new but had to get the clutch reprogrammed for cruise contol ,and clutch pedal travel…easy as a car now …
