Mercedes Actros

The light going out when you close the door thing must be in the settings as mine doesn’t do it.
On the lighting front, my dash clocks always default to dim no matter what level you previously had them at. Probably a setting thing as well but haven’t been able to find it.

Pulling power is garbage.

The door stays don’t stay.

Zero traction. Can spin with 44 tonnes on. Gets stuck at the sniff of uneven ground.

Gearbox and engine don’t interact. Mine has a habit of changing up a gear even though the engine is pulling up a incline and revs dropping off. Dont even mention pulling out of junctions or randomly dropping into neutral sometimes.

Lockers are too high.

Seat doesn’t go far enough back unless you lift the bunk.

On the plus side its very high up, decent visibility and roomy cabs.

On your first point, mine does that too, damned annoying! Any idea what setting it will be to change it? I’ve looked and can’t see anything

There is a button up top that has a picture of a light above a side on view of the cab, push it until it beeps and that will deactivate the interior light auto shutoff.

You’re a star, thank you :sunglasses:

Also if you press and hold the interior light switch, it acts as a dimmer control.

Whilst we’re on the subject of Mercs, we had 3 turn up last June, 3 days apart. All have similar mileage (95-110k) and pull similar weight over days/nights. Couple of weeks back, I pulled out the yard, bit more gutless than normal, struggled to make ground on M4 e/b from j11 up the hill, got to 1st depot (I do 2 on a Tuesday…get me on the multidrop eh!!) and weren’t much better for the rest of the night. Following morning, text comes in, day driver broke down in yard… Exhaust brake stuck on, temp fix carried out by dealer, went in last week for repair. FF to y’day, the 2nd one that arrived broke down in the yard, same problem. Dealer has already been booked to be in the yard for 4:30am in a fortnight to fix the other! Any others had this problem with a brand new Actros? Incidentally, this is the exact same fault my old 52plate 2553 suffered from, which is what made it cut out if the revs dropped below 900-1100rpm and the retarder was in use along with the brakes
