Merc music

We have just had delivered, 2 new Merc Actros Gigaspace, (Yes I know… ) and when at full volume, the system doesn’t seem that loud, and is probably at the max that european law will allow.

As I am in the need for the windows to vibrate, has anyone managed to up the standard setting on the volume? The digital slider on the screen, carries on going when you keep your finger on it, but the volume seems to peak at 8 instead of 11. Rock music needs 11.

Those Mercs don’t need loud music to make the windows rattle

Just buy a pair of iPods or similar, Ignore the efforts of the manufacturer especially Mercedes Benz as usual with Merc 1 step forward 10 steps back.

Is it the same when playing music from the radio or only with AUXin/bluetooth? I find it (the older ones, '18) plays radio much louder than from external source

When playing my phone through truck system I too needed to turn up truck volume.
To get past this though, turn up volume on phone controls. It is initially set low so as not to deafen you if you just plug in ear-phones etc.

Did you not spec the vehicles with the “Spinal Tap” mode?

You’re dead right, the sound system in a Merc is ■■■■ poor (as with everything else :unamused: )
It ain’t the same listening to decent music in the truck as what it is in the car.
Stuff as varied as Bon Jovi’s ‘Dead or Alive’, The Who’s ‘Who are you’ and Queen’s ‘Invisible Man’ HAS to be listened to at volumes just under the ‘pain barrier’ .
