one of our drivers had a flashing amber ABS light after coupling up… we tried a different suzie but it didn’t make any difference…
I suggested drive around the yard and see what happens…
while on the move the light went out and the brakes performed as they should…
when he stopped the flashing amber came on again…
any ABS experts out there have an answer for this one…
Have a look at the ABS fuse/circuit breaker in the fusebox located behind the panel inthe passenger footwell. Easy too see if it has popped out.
It only did it with one trailer, so not the unit at fault…
Some trailer ABS systems will put up an ABS flag if the service period has been exceeded for the trailer.It goes off when the trailer is moving.
Way to get round this is to set the service period at 999000 km when the trailer is new.
If its gone over the service period you will need to access the trailer ABS module and turn off the lamp,then reset the service period.
Knorr Bremse (bendix) have this built into the module.
