Menzies Bibby

Menzies buys Bibby will anything change ■■

The spelling.

Spelling ■■

Yeah, Bibby begins with B and Menzies with M.

Apart from that only time will tell, it’s not possible to state what (if anything) will change in any form of takeover. Each case is by its very nature unique.

And people wonder why these forums are DEAD

Probably because people get sick and tired of ridiculous questions.

I received this yesterday.

Good Afternoon
Earlier today, the sale of Bibby Distribution to Menzies Distribution was announced and I wanted to update you direct as one of our valued partners.
Menzies Distribution is a £1bn revenue, 60 site, 2000+ vehicle and 3000 employee base organisation. It is a national business with specialisms in time-critical logistics. It has a particular set of capabilities, offering strategic supply chain solutions to a variety of sectors. Menzies is an HSBC Sunday Times Top Track 100 business and was awarded Logistics UK’s ‘Most Innovative Company of the Year 2020’.
Our combined businesses will create a positive force within UK logistics, offering our customers logistics solutions, as well as a wide range of value added services.
From day one it is very much business as usual. You should not see any difference in the day-to-day operation, all of our people remain in place and your contacts and account setup remain unchanged.
As ever, we thank you for your continued support, if you have any specific queries please contact any of your usual contacts with Bibby Distribution.
Best Regards,

Looks like nothing much from the outside just two companies merging to cut costs. I guess from the inside of both there will be losses and changes to the worst conditions out of the two.

It isn’t two companies merging. Bibby sold off part of the company, distribution sector. Menzies bought this as a diversification and for rebranding the company.

“Bibby Distribution has built its reputation as a high quality, safe and reliable logistics provider, and since the company was established in 1985, we have seen it grow from strength to strength. This strategic realignment of our portfolio represents a strengthening of the Group balance sheet for future investment. I want to thank all our Bibby Distribution colleagues for their hard work and successes, and the value they have added to customers and our Group and we wish them well under new ownership with Menzies.”

Takeovers bring many things, including more shareholders, they will all want a dividend, it can only come from the pot of money they had saved up for their drivers and office staff as a Christmas bonus.
