Muckaway:
Try being at home without pay since 14th December, because there’s no work. I still don’t know when I’m back in, hence I’ve applied for another job. Problem is, they’re shut down until January 2nd. I’d love to’ve been paid an extra day to clean the lorry.
Must admit I was pretty shocked you jacked the smiths gig in at this time of year knowing the way construction work goes this time of year.
Any chance getting back on there?
HUGE bust up mate, glad to be out of there. In a strange way I’m much happier despite the uncertainty. People say I should see CAB and get advice but I just want to say (zb) 'em and move on and upwards.I think my posts, post Smiffs reflect this. The gig I moved to is a brilliant little job, just a shame the work’s not there.
Must admit I’ve never been one for tribunals etc if I’m not happy in a job or it no longer suits I look elsewhere. Just as you know construction is crap this time of year. Still always earthline lol. Are bennie still going was around Banbury one time.
I’ll never go to Earthline Kev, not rushing about everywhere the way they do. Bennies’ have got rid of their tippers, as have sister firm Barton Plant.

I had to drive a rigid for 2 days this week …
hahhaha, proper head mess when you come to back it on a bay huh
Managed to survive, 1st day in a 4w FL6 daycab with a manual gearbox and no hill hold not one of Volvo’s best efforts! 2nd day in a tidy 6w TGS sleeper cab auto with all the driver comforts nice motor
Did better than a colleague who managed to reverse his rigid for the day into the FL6 I had driven, claimed he was still in “artic” mode when going backwards
Did nowt on Monday, 1 easy drop and told to stay away, Cant take hols in December and they wouldnt give me the day off unpaid, so had to hang around until 4 where we were asked to go in the site bar, sod that I’m going home ive had a titful, hear the gaffer aint happy with me and wants a word, joy

Don’t they train artic drivers to use parking brakes then?
WTF is a hill hold?
Helps you pull away on hills
Holds the brakes on for a second or two when you lift of the brake pedal and go for the accelerator
Developed so fat americans don’t drop their burgers while trying to do two things at once.
