medical advice needed

I think Redrorry has the correct advice, a letter from your consultant or GP, it will be in your records and you are free to see what is written in them.

I had an interview for my present job on a Wednesday, they asked me if I could ship out on the Sunday but I was waiting for my license to come back after 4 weeks, I rang the number on the part of the form you keep after writing you driver number on it, the first person I spoke to said I was ok to drive but asked a supervisor when I told him I had to have it with me when in another country. He said I was right and when did I need it as it’s buried in the pile, told him I’m going Sunday so need it in Saturday’s post… It was Thursday morning when I rang so didn’t fancy my chances. He said he would see what he could do but couldn’t promise anything… Saturday there it was on my door mat. Good job as I got stopped on the way back in France.

Did you actually have to show your driving licence, because in 30 years I have been asked for mine twice, both times after committing an offence Normally the only request is , Disc, CMR and Permission

just a bit of a update last monday i phoned dvla to check to see if they have recieved my request for all my documents to be sent to me regarding the case and to see where my driving licence is and they have told me the case is still ongoing which is weird when they have refused my application so i questioned it and despite being told for weeks i have been refused it now seems i have not been refused they claim to be waiting on more info from the doctor i have recieved a letter confirming they have written to doctor requesting info couple of weeks befre hand i did speak to my local mp regarding this and by all accounts he has written to them which may explain there change of mind but the windy road still continues

Yep they done this with me as well said they were still waiting on medical evidence even though they had it all so phoned up 1 Mon mor was a little “economical” 3 days later my licence arrived with all the categories on

well the letter i recieved is exactly the same one i recieved couple of week before i got my car licence which looks hopeful but obviously doesnt gurantee anything

just a update not much has actually happened since my local mp got involved was told repeatly they were working throu a backlog of nigh on 3 months and was told this week they had written to another specialist for more advice as my case is quite complex it seems so i still have a long wait :frowning: i think the way its going trucks wont exist by the time they have sorted this out  but im not gonna give up applied in novemeber so nearly 8 months so far

DVLA are a ■■■■■■■ pain in the arse, but keep at it, you’ll be pleased you did.

cheers lads im certainly not giving up especially as there is nowt wrong with me well not that would stop me driving  im just bored of waiting

had a letter today the dvla have refused my application for the 4th time they have accepted i didnt have seizure in 2003-4 but where i was given tablets for that so called seizure that didnt happen they have refused it due to that now i dont know what to do im feeling so downhearted by this now dont know if i can cary on as this has been goin on since november last year i just duno wat to do

Well I would be calling on a no win no fee solicitor and seeing if you could have a case against docs and claim for negligence or suffering in the path of your career

first thing im going to do is phone the dvla and tell hem wat i think of them and listen to there explanation and then contact my local mp again

does anyone have any other ideas i can try ? as im outta ideas

peewee:

Have you asked the DVLA to have your ‘condition’ checked by their approved experts ?

shouldnt have to because they have accepted my last seizure was in 1996 so that makes me clear over 10 years how ever where i was given medication for a seizure that didnt happen in 2003 that is why they have refused it again i personally think it disgusting im being punished/victimised or what everu call it for something thats not my fault or happened to me

does anyone have any ideas as im at a loss now dont know how/where to go with this

Apart from ask your GP to write to DVLA stating that you will be fine for this up graded licence
