Look on the bright sight the pub and the village seat have survived so could have been worse if he’d tried to turn it around.Don’t say he’d actually tried to turn left into that road. 
When straight on back onto the A670 was the only option from that point.

The driver only had to follow the road to the right of the picture and they would of been home free.
Even if he was determined he was going to take the street he tried (but failed) to get up there’s so much space for him to take the street before then reverse round on his good side then go straight at it.
Given the level of stupidity I’m assuming he’s never seen the inside of a dcpc classroom. This invaluable certificate of professional competence [emoji23] would have prevented this, surely? Therefore, his employer is at fault for not checking his ‘qualifications’. [emoji57]

I know that pub well,many a good folk-night held there till ‘new-labour’ made these gatherings subject to licensing laws that made it unviable.Shocking photo tbh…Dobcross is a fabulous old village.Saddened.

I’m the same I always try and give people a chance before taking the ■■■■ etc but then there’s only so long you can use that for. A bit like pro drivers always trying to blame the car being in their blind spot rather than admitting they didn’t do enough mirror checks, the blind spot excuse is over used. In the same way you can over use the “yeah but everyone makes mistakes thing” and there’s got to be a line where you cross it and it goes beyond just making a mistake and becomes stupidity. This driver crossed that line.

Looking at the photos if you approached from the right instead of the way they did which turned a straight line approach into a tight left turn then they probably do.
