McGeown International Photographs..?

I was a huge fan of the very impressive fleet of McGeown International (County Armagh) whilst they were in business, would you guys on here have any photographs that maybe you snapped of the trucks parked up around the country or on the roads etc… :sunglasses:  :sunglasses:

Most of the fleet were made up of Scanias, most of which are since sold to private operators although there was quite a few nice Volvo FH12s around the yard also… :sunglasses: :sunglasses:

The trucks could have been spotted either with a Curtainsider trailer or with a Fridge connected up…

If you could post a few up, or e-mail me direct at - scaniaenthusiast@yahoo.co.uk

Would love a few for my McGeown Collection…

Cheers guys, many thanks for your kind help etc.

I didn’t know McGeown had finished but I do remember he had some smart scanias.

I tried taking some photos myself of the ones I saw around europe but they were always going so fast the photos came out blurred.

All joking aside there were some good lads on there but they didn’t like stopping for very long.

Thinking about it there were 2 Mcgeown’s running out of the north.

The ones I’m thinking of were red/white/black in a traditional style of livery but there was also this crowd from Co. Down.

The livery was indeed the mixture of Red, Black and White. The trucks mostly all Scanias could be spotted all over the world doing Fridge and Curtainsider work… :sunglasses: :sunglasses: :sunglasses:

The trucks were very impressive looking and he did have one new R-Series, (R580 4x2-OLZ8686) Topline, but it was sold quite recently also…

There is another McGeown International based in Newry, County Down of which are still on the road, they operate a range of trucks from DAF to Scania and they have a website which can be viewed at - www.mcgeowninternational.com

If anyone has the photographs I’am looking for, please do get in touch… :sunglasses: :sunglasses:

Cheers…

I found this on another post so transfered the link across.

The photo is courtesy of V8-Karl-V8 so I hope he doesn’t mind.

I still reckon that the irish are second only to the danes when it comes to turning out a smart motor without going OTT.
