I was told this when I went to enquire about a job this week for a local contractor (was offered the job,but didn’t take it). I’ve provided the link above to satisfy forum rules.
A bit of a shock, given the amount of lorries they run. I feel sorry for the McKenna drivers, they’ve been treated like excrement apparently since being taken over, at one point having to park their lorries at Colnbrook rather than near Oxford. Now there’s a chance of them losing their jobs altogether.
I think we’ll see Earthline around the M25 soon…
They are still working as they have been told they will still get paid and they are confident that a buyer will be found. I collected a dump truck that had been hired to them from a landfill site the other day, apparently within a couple of hours of it being announced a contractor working there had sent their lowloader for their 360 and had tried to collect a McArdle’s dozer presumably to offset their loss. They were on the ball and didn’t let it go.
Surprising news though, considering the large jobs they’ve done recently. I think if I was drivng for McRaggit, I’d be looking for anotjer job, just incase the market becomes flooded with redundant tipper drivers.
