What is it with these [zb] s are they bored, or got nowt better to do. :unamused:

Think I may recognise the crap grammar/deliberate childlike style of posting.
Yet ANOTHER username would you believe… :unamused:
Give him 10 out of 10 for 2020’s first.

There’s been hardly any new members joined here for a while then chester makes an almighty ■■■■ up with a thread, gets it pulled, probably gets put on pre-mod and then 2 days later a whole raft of new members start appearing? And they all having conversations with themselves, replying to each other’s posts and posting exactly what is required to get a reaction?
As is the norm when this occurs, the initial postings are all tame, subtle and within forum rules but you don’t need to be Carol Vorderman to add 2 +2 here. As per usual though, the mods don’t do very much and let it carry on, probably hoping it’ll fritter itself out right up till the forum descends into chaos and then they’ll start blaming everyone else for the mess it’s in

Never said I worked for maritime lol

You didn’t have to. Your first post was to defend their use of cameras pointing at drivers. It was also false information, the rest of us know for a fact they can pull that footage whenever they like.

I’m sure some drivers have been sacked legitimately using the footage. I know a driver who was sacked by them for fiddling with his phone. The problem is, he was still in the yard and did not have any kind of accident or harsh braking event. He was however on their naughty list and had had a few warnings form them both verbal and written.

Then all of a sudden some footage conveniently appears of him fiddling with his phone. Some slick back pointy shoed traffic warrior probably spent a few days trawling through footage to get what they wanted.

Companies like that can kiss my chocolate starfish :unamused:

And this is why we should all be resisting inward cameras en masse. The power we’ve got to make that change is incredible, if only we could care enough to use it.

most likely the most concise and accurate post we will see this coming year.

Can’t fault that logic ^^ and am pleased to see yet another who understands things for what they are.

If you are on a naughty list with most firms you will find yourself sacked cameras or not, driver or not. It might be done in a different way than trawling through cameras but if the boss doesn’t like you, for whatever reason, and if he can replace you, bye bye.

Well they must use a different system but from what I know 95% of places use the system it only records if u harsh brake or ie have a crash and in all fairness I used too smoke but never in the cab so they deserve to be sacked In my opinion

Managers are alerted by harsh brake incidents, and do investigate every one by looking at the cameras, but they can also pop the SD card out at any time to check. Whether or not they do this is anybody’s guess.

I just think that when they do have cause to look at one of the SD cards, they make it worth their while.

My advice to any Maritime drivers is just crack on as normal. I’m not condoning phone use etc. but I certainly wouldn’t be stressing out over getting caught eating an apple or retuning the radio. If they are prepared to sack you got that, just resign. It’s hardly a once in a lifetime job.
