Whats the total weight fully loaded for a rigid lorry? I looked at the plate in the cab last week just wernt sure what numbers i was suppose to be taking away from what. I queried the load and they didnt like it! ![]()
The gross weight is the maximum loaded weight of the vehicle and the Train weight is the maximum loaded weight for the vehicle with a trailer.
To find the weight you can carry you need to weigh the vehicle and deduct it from the gross weight.

I drive a 26t MAN that weighs in at 11.5 T empty so have a 14.5t payload

Unless it’s been downplated just count the number of axles,
2 = 18t,
3 = 26t,
4 = 32t.
7.5t will have smaller wheels.

And then there’s you!
So what was the payload again chunky? ![]()

2 axle 12/15 tonner will also have smaller wheels - 8 wheel nuts instead of usual 10
In France, two axles is 19T (unless otherwise plated) is that not the case in the UK?
