Hi folks, I have a drop in Matlock tomorrow. Will be coming from Chesterfield way.
Does anyone know of any bridges lower than 14ft on the A632? I think thats the road
Regulars in that area will know, thanks.

from memory, there are no bridges along that road, just plenty of steep hills
mind you, it is a long time since i went that way
where are you going to after Matlock? there are plenty of low bridges in that area
Nothing on the A632 to worry about theres a 13.6 on the A615 the other side of Wessington if you going out that way.
Its been a while since ive been there.
Iāll be going back the way I came to go up to Sheffield.
Matlock is the odd ball as I have 2 x Sheffield, Leeds, Elvington then back to Immingham. Iām glad they scrubbed the Hull on a Friday afto,
Thanks peeps. I have a satnav database set at 14ft but I donāt have it with me, so I cant check it.
I remember one around that way but if you kept to the centre of the road you got thru .It was on the way to a quarry ,if I remember.
Iām not sure of the one you mean, but Itās been a while since I was over that way. If I remember correctly, the A632 has that bloody long drop and then a big climb back up, then another long drop on a bendy road as you approach Matlock.
Or is my mind playing tricks on me??
Darby Flyer
You are right,
Climb out of Chesterfield to Standedge
Then the āFlying Mileā
Long drop into Kelstedge, smile as you get your picture on the GATSO
Long drag up Slack Hill
Over the top and drop into Matlock.
Watch it when you get into Matlock proper Bloody steep hill to the crossroads at the bottom
There is a railway bridge over the A6 between Matlock and Matlock Bath (No idea of the height)

Iām glad you have confirmed it. That one over the A6 is no problem. I used to go over Slack Hill quite often on General Haulage a few years ago, just couldnāt remember what it was called
Ta folks.
As usual, if you see a white Volvo rigid, 18 or 26t not sure yet, with a dry Ice aa on the NS curtain and a load of AdBlue / Euro 5 gumph on the other and the back doors, give us a wave. HA, Iāll probably look at you gone out, cos Iāll have forgotten by then.
Oh yeah, its got a small company name on the back doors, YARA. God knows why the curtains are covered with something else,
Do you know your drop off Darby Flyer? I live in Matlock so can assist if needed.
Pete.

Appreciate that fella, but I wonāt know until I pick the manifest up, but saying that, Iāll be delivering dry ice.
An example of usage is drugs labs, airports, un-refrigerated food delivery etcā¦
Well we aint got an airport, plenty of drugs knocking about though!! I am sure that you will sort it out, just remember that we have a bypass now and if you cross the river you canāt turn right! It catches some of the satnavs out. Good luck.
Pete.
Oh yes, I do recall seeing alot of workings when I last went there.
My last company supplied the glass for the Tesco store. Next time yourāe in there buying your beer, look at the glass at the front of the store and think - āDarby Flyer was right, what a load of crap glass he delivered!!ā
EDIT: Actually, Iām not sure about the location of that new store
, I went to so many delivering crap glass,
Was definately that way on though, in an old quarry I do beleive. Iām 36 and my mind is on its way out already,

Oh right! Itās a Sainsburys actually but they are all much the same It is a good store (for Matlock) but the bypass does nothing for the town.
