Materials for Yodel/Culina assesement

Hi everybody! Nice to be here!

Im currently working but trying to change agency. Ive just failed to take and exam for Yodel as a lorry driver- 5 mistakes (3 were acceptable)…:frowning:
and need to prepare for another .

I`ve bought a book above

drivingtestsuccess.com/colle … 9_banner_8

but unfortunatelly on test there were many “health & safety” questions and others from unknown for me sources…
Could you help me and give me some advice where to look for tests, materials, handbooks…

That would be very nice of you!
Thx!
C.

You don’t need to go too heavy studying for assessments. Just make sure you know the basics, i’m sure theres a DSA guide for driving heavy goods vehicles. I’ve done a Culina assessment, you’ll do a written test on road signs/highway code/tacho regs etc. It’s not strict pass or fail, they just want to know you have a decent grasp of things and can read/write English.

More aimed at employers but you should get a few tips from it

or search google for hgv health and safety

Although your post just seems a weakly vailed book plug, based on your poor presentation I would hazard a guess English isnt your first language.
No matter the book you have linked to is virtually useless for a driving assesment and your failure was more due to crap driving than failure to answer common sense questions.

If I where you I would get some more agency experience, even try getting on Culina via agency first. Chances are though if you failed with yodel then you have no chance with culina but dont let me put you off, could you tell us the questions you failed on.

rob 22888 and 205, thank you for objective answer, that`s very helpfull. I would consider you advice. Take care you both!

Dipper_Dave, the only one point youre right about is that English isnt my mother tongue.
My presentation, in turn, is poor because I do not look for a gay-friend in here :unamused: , but for a help from more experianced native drivers
And unfortunatelly I didnt even touch a wheel so again, you cant asses my driving skills.
I simply didn`t get all the specialistic words like a piston or a flywheel.

Deeper Dave!!

Deeper-Dave, the two words I love to hear. No point editing your froidian slip out now Ciarli your original posts been quoted. :sunglasses:

Anyway not sure why piston and flywheel would come into an assesment but for Culina its a pretty much by the book company, ive worked for them a bit myself via agency and you cant beat doing a couple of days to learn all their rules. Things like making sure the parking brake is on, wearing ppe, correct method to split couple, possibly a little test on drivers hours may be included.

We have a few on here who work for the big C who may have more tips my little gay friend…

With limited grasp of the English language, it may be those two words were actually Pistup and Flybynight, two more appropriate words in HGV circles perhaps…?

This thread is Horlicks… someone’s having a wind up with a second profile…lol…

Names in the hat for who it is :grimacing:
