Just look at the speed some of the vehicles are doing. Including the semis (Americanism Alert)
Free firework show to entertain you until the ambulance arrives.

Ouch.
Be careful out there peopleā¦
Anyone else out there think those trucks were coming in far too fast for the conditions?
Sure looked fast to me.

Yep.
Thatās how they roll though, if the limit is 60mph (which it is in Michigan) then youāll be the slowest lorry on the road if you do 60mph, the weather doesnāt change that, as you can clearly see in the video.
Conditions have to reach the point where itās almost impossible to drive before they even think of slowing down.
That section of road gets a regular pounding of Lake Effect snow, the Great Lakes are basically a giant snow machine with unhindered winds whipping it all up into a big dusty mess like fog but far worse.
To be fair accidents are rare, donāt ask me how, but they are.
The fatality mentioned in the vid could pretty much have been anyone among those vehicles. Some of the trucks smashed in pretty hard, there was that 4x4 undercutting the artic, and the front set of vehicles on fire as well?
As for that other clip with the tumbling stack of containersā¦ How that guy got his cab squashed on the head and get out of it alive at all is pretty amazing!
āGet well soon driverā.
I thought they looked like they were going way too fast, why would anybody push it in those conditions.
If I canāt stop within my line of sight, I slow down, itās not Rocket Science, or maybe it is, with all the Physics Involved !
Good Old Yanks !
Weāve got plenty of Numbties here as well with Hungerford/M4, 1991 & the Isle of Sheppey last year.
Yep, the same as the Sheppy bridge crash - a large number of drivers going too fast for the visibility they had and not being able to stop in the distance they could see. The consequences are inevitable when people are driving like that.
It just goes to show that the average driver really has very little idea of what theyāre doing and are really just praying the traffic keeps flowing. I watched a longer version of it on youtube this morning and through the whole clip only one vehicle stopped in time, an artic. Pretty sad really.
And yeah, Sheppey was just as bad. Driving on blind hope
So would the heroās on here who like to ākeep her litā when others back it off just STFU in future.
