Mark Dixon

villa:
i follow him on twitter and he was going mad today because he had left the juice for his vapour thing at home

That leads to the question as to why you would follow him on Twitter. Reading about him leaving a vape at home is akin to watching paint dry.

Rikki-UK:
most who demean Mark have never met him, I have and in fact spent an evening on the beer with him. he is so far away from the way TV depicted him its unreal. he is also no fool he knew that it was his chance to make a few quid and grabbed it while he could.
He is also no coward, many folks on here slagged him off, as well as on other social media, called him every name under the sun, but he had the balls to go to Truckfest and spend many hours on our stand meeting folks- funnily enough not one of the internet loudmouths had the balls to come and say their piece to him in person.

Yes the programme made him look a bit of a prat at times, but his bank account is having the last laugh

Rikki…have you got a crush on him or wot■■?

Ouch

I suppose i could compare him to my missus…in a way…when i first met her, i didnt know her, and yet weve been together for many years..far too many for my liking  ..but i do agree that you cannot judge someone you havnt met, yet have see a few times on the telly `…the one i have seen on the telly i think hes very girly…has the most annoying laugh…like a girly…and is not the type i would want to spend an evening with, but then again, i have spent many a good night with people i have never met…including rikky…  and others at the MATS show…eh boys…

3pages on a stobart driver ,no wonder he thinks hes gods gift[so im lead to belief but cant comment cos ive never met the man],FFS :unamused: :unamused:

+1 Seth.

Proof that truck drivers get bored.

Another thread I’m digging up from the past,

I started my class 2 in early 2016 with a hope and a wonder , now a Ltd co fuel Tanker Class 1 ,

I’ve learned a lot in the past 3 or so years and looking at some point to go owner op , prob on containers, but anyway this guy …

I remember watching there shows and being impressed I won’t lie , but as you gain experience you very quickly determin what a difficult reverse is and what’s not etc as the show kinda goes, very dramatised ,

My first job in the industry was class 1 container work with STOBARTS :open_mouth:

But to be honest it was ok, £8.35 p/h wasn’t great but they sent us everywhere so it was great experience, 8 months later I got my ADR and was lucky enough to get a job on fuel,

Anyway I digress …

My point is …

I used to listen to other drivers not being discriminatory etc, but most older drivers were hating on the Stobarts and I understand why undercutting etc but business is business,

I also was getting anti drivers as they were portrayed on the tele, but as I’ve gained more experience , I’ve seen it for what it is, the guy was just doing what most of us would do, we don’t know how much he got but obviously enough to suggest he did ok out of the deal,

Anyway the point is 3 years ago I would be clouded by some on this guy and the negative comments, but now having experience of various things driving wise I would be more than happy to shake his hand and say fair play.

Also getting stopped in Asda when your just trying to get a cottage pie has its drawbacks. Which happened to me a few times. :unamused: On

Certainly can, nobody believes anybody and everyone is somebody else. I get very confused at times. As long as nobody accuses me of being Carryfast I’ll be happy.
All good fun though.

I don’t think anybody could stoop that low to accuse you of being Carryfast!

Oh dear, nasty nasty . It would actually be a compliment to some of the things that have been said. You sound like a fun guy.

Now I sure RR could post a few pics on here. Now that would get tongues wagging and relieve something.

Last I heard of Mark Dixon was he was in hospital having a heart bypass, he was working as a tree surgeon at the time but being a party animal from Wearside I was never sure whether the job had got to him or the hard life he had as an international driver caught up with him.
