Birmingham driver was refused any oil for his truck at Felixstowe depot and was told “sorry drive, it’s for Felixstowe drivers only”
Unless I am mistaken FX depot never had fuel or oil on site ;which leaves me wondering, where did the tugs fuel up?
no Maritime depot has fuel on site, the trucks all have fuel cards supplied by Keyfuels, all the depots have a stock of 5Ltr cans of oil for the drivers when it is needed so they can top up as required, it is just that some depots are more selective as to who they give it to
if i ever wanted to be a box jockey and lived in F’xto, i would go there, if as said above £500 take home for doing nothing legally, and top tackle. If i remember an advert for a recruitment drive, it once said fitted coffe maker, microwave and television in the motor, and i assume they’ve all got built in fridges. Thats over a grand you’ve saved straight away! (i would take the coffee maker out thou cos i dont drink hot drinks!)
And i think the motors look really smart!
been working for maritime for 4 months now wages are as stated normally take 480 to 500 60+hrs 3 to 4 nights out most i,ve taken is 625 that was running on sunday but do,nt like working weekends as a rule your expected to do 1 in 3 but it,s not rigid.I,m on the coscon contract which is in a separate yard and a lot more friendly being only 28 trucks. We do,nt have fuel or oil on sight if needed get it from dealer orwell trucks in my case.No tv,s in trucks just microwaves and fridges coffee makers only in older trucks which will be gone soon. Not the worse company to work for but the usual crap that comes with pulling boxes i,ve worked for worse companies hope this helps?
I made good money with 'em but the work was so easy that I couldn’t stay awake after a lifetime of hi stress foreign fridge firms & TIR. Had to leave. A good firm to work for…but bored to death.
