Maritime have made an offer to ■■■■■■■■ engines to carry out ALL their uk haulage at every depot. This includes containers, curtainsider, and flat work. A firm desision will be made by next week.

I was waiting for that

More pedantry. Surely its ‘Maritime may take all ■■■■■■■ work’ if a decision hasn’t been made…

They do all the containers for Tesco, and at Reading at least they do store deliveries too with a few units based there…

They also do deliveries for Tesco at Nursling, Southampton. More and more of it.
Quite bizzare actually as my old boss took the contract on and started running it two weeks ago!
A lot of ■■■■■■■ work involves small collections from suppliers. Somehow I can’t see Maritime doing that.
I used to work for a company that did such work, and to my knowledge, still do.

Most of the ■■■■■■■ depots don’t want them, but maritime have gone direct to ■■■■■■■ uk HQ in London and quoted them on the lot. I would imagine tho that small customer own collections would still go on.

Hope ■■■■■■■■ understand what Maritime’s top speed is.
They probably always leave the Docks with next week’s deliveries.

Can’t see how Marmite time can do it as they won’t be interested in a box here and a pallet there.
Ken.
The distribution side is expanding fast I been taken off boxes to go n give em a lift for 6 week easy work
But one thing is for sure the office that are running me at the mo needs sorting silly things like running 120 mile for a reload just cant pay
so what
20-30 drops and collections round the West Mids in an artic everyday then back and tip n reload for tomorrow is quite usual. Then saturday and sunday tips and collections in Scitland from East Anglia. 7:5 tonner jobs to Orkney and The Hebrides… all in a days work for my old boss on the ■■■■■■■ contract. Bit out of the comfort zone for John Williams I would’ve thought though…
Nah, it’ll just be the easy work Maritime have quoted for, can’t see them being arsed with Multi drop.
They’ll be looking to move the finished engines abroad.
