Manually entering hours

Hi guys can anyone explain how to easily enter hours, I think it’s a vdo siemens unit. So we start work at 7 am but sometimes might drive at 12-1 ish. So I put the card in and it says manual entry, press yes. Put the start time in of 7 now the thing is now it wants to know what I’ve done for every minute individually rather than for a period. So if I’ve done other work between 7-12 I have to put in for each minute, there must be a quicker way of doing it? Any help much appreciated

On my tach just put start shift then scroll forward to the time it is you want to enter to press ok then confirm if other work or rest etc then confirm ok

Easy just use the up arrow to push the time forwards until you want to change mode again or until you get back to the present time (it wont let you go further). It will then ask you what mode (rest, poa or other work) you were doing for that time period.

As soon as you get to the present it will stop asking.

You don’t have to put the activity for each individual minute, if you want to put other work for the time from 07:00 to 12:00 move the time on the bottom line to 12:00 by repeatedly pressing the up arrow until the time on the bottom line shows 12:00 and then select the activity and the whole time from 07:00 to 12:00 will be allocated as other work.

Remember that on older tachograph you’re working in UTC time but on the new tachographs you’re inputting the time in local time.

if you hold the arrow down it will jump forward more than a minute at a time so if you have to scroll forward a few hrs makes things a bit easier.

Go on a decent Driver CPC course and get shown …

There are numerous sites that have tachograph simulators & instructions available on-line, just do a Google for ‘tachograph simulator’

I’ll have another go with it when I get the chance. Can’t go on any simulators I don’t think cos I’m on an iPhone. I’m must be doing something wrong as it can’t be as hard as it seems to me. Cheers for the help guys. And thanks for the welcome
