Hi, I’ve had 2 occasions where I’ve worked my last day and had a holiday straight after then my usual days off. When I’ve put my card back in on my first day back to do a manual entry from taking my card out to leaving the gate it’s showing a different time that I ejected my card (3 hours on the first occasion and an hour the next)
Theoretically impossible unless the time on the tacho head is wrong and it certainly should not be 3 hours out that’s for sure.
So no idea what is going on there I’m afraid. The tacho head writes the time the card was ejected so theoretically there is no way it can be wrong.
But it seems it is for some reason in your case. But without further info and maybe a printout with personal details blacked out almost impossible to give any useful input.

The single hour one can be explained dependant upon what type and version of tacho head for daylight savings. But not the 3 hours you mention.

I woke up at Dorchester truck park on Friday morning.
Went to ‘book on’ at 6am, but tacho was showing a tine of 0020.
I just happened to scroll up on dashboard noticed it showed Sunday 14 Sept.
It has kept changing times ever since, went to a garage they could not get the time set right ot would not allow them to.
Got to yestrrday aftetnoon about 1600 dash warning telling me I’d done 17 hours driving (assume total of 2 days) and that my time was up.
Did all the necessary reporting faults to office, sending photos,.and printouts to cover my arse as far as I could.
Ran back today tacho was on correct date today, but clock 5 hours fast…put defect in for Mon.
Couldn’t give a toss about any forthcoming infringements,.what I do care about is I get paid off my tacho.
Not really bothered but just curious as to wtf was going on with it.

not wanting to start the you should/shouldt leave your card in malarky thats been done to death. However if you did out of interest when you did the print outs ie the 10th for example did it print out what you had done on the 10th or did it think it was the sunday or what ever.
I have always left my card in all week, only take it out when back to base at weekend.
The printout showed me kicking off at 0020 or whatever it showed.
The time obviously changed when the guy attenpted to change the time.
Didn’t really check it after that . lost interest.
Made a record of times I drove from and to…purely for my wages.
Never been one to stress out over tacho issues, although I run fully legal, on this occasion I had no control over it all, so as I said I lost interest, after doing all I could to cover my arse
