Yes infringement , as T master is a computer that won’t use common sense .
It sounds like the vdu timed out on you .
Another reason to put your tacho on rest / break befor removing and inserting your card .
This does not mean you have finished work it just prevents what you have just have happen . Still do manual entries but if you mess up or the system times out you won’t get the infringement .
To be fair to Tachomaster if other work is recorded on the driver card there’s no reason why they should treat it as rest, so yes unless your TM notifies them about the mistake you will get an infringement.

Think you for advice .This was in Scania-tacho Stoneridge .I make this every day and about 6 month.Company where i work said must do manual entries ,But not sure all drivers do or not.And was no problem, but yesterday i think i make all, tacho ask press to confirm but my fingers press buttons not properly and i just see after 30 sec or more-time out…My shift was 36 hours with 14 hours driving time.
Lot of drivers don’t bother with manual entries as early morning / tired it’s easy to make a mistake with mode or date etc ,just easier to bung it in and drive .
Also if you’ve had 2/3 hrs waiting for truck then then put manual entry in ,you’ve only then got 12/13 hrs to do your 15 hrs worth of work in ,so may end up on night out ,not good if your day / night driver as you’ll have no night out gear on you ,best to just bung it in when you get truck ,then you’ve got 15 hrs to do 15 hrs of work in .
Don’t loose money though ,bung any hours over 15 on a short day ,t.o should be fine with it
Yep timed out .
So just put it on break or rest when taking the card out and inserting then continue doing your manual enterys as normal . All your doing is using the mode as a safe guard incase it happens again

yes its an infringement i’m afraid, done the same a couple of weeks ago, logged on incorrectly, received my infringement worked a straight 30 hour shift, apparently its a £300 pound fine, just take a printout, and enter your details manually and keep in case you are stopped.
