If you’re planning to come this way between 0000 & 0500 on Thursday 2nd or 0000 - 0700 in Sunday 5th, don’t come in a vehicle over 9’ high, as the level crossing over the top is closed at those times, and the bridge has already had its quota of hits for this year.
Its a bit of a pita if you forget and have to turn round and go back via the a12!
On the subject of Manningtree what’s the deal with the weight limit at the Lawford roundabout as you head towards Mistley Quay? Says 7.5t with no exceptions but everyone seems to ignore it, even my truck sat nav says go through yet according to the sign you shouldn’t? You have to do a bloody great detour otherwise!!
Its a pain in the arse I agree, a 20 odd mile detour to avoid some NIMBY limit!
