mandy robinson

Looking on mandy robinsons [M1 Accident]it seems that the fund set up for her is to pay for her medical treatment,
i thought medical treatment is free in the uk,if she is still in a uk hospital or as she been sent to a southern irish hospital?

The whole thing has gone very quiet in the last week. From being a popular thread it’s disappeared off the main page of the forum.

Don’t know and don’t care to be honest, she’s on the mend and that’s all that matters as far as I’m concerned.

If you don’t like the idea of some of her friends starting a fund to help her over what is and will continue to be a difficult time don’t donate.

I haven’t given to the fund but I do wish her well and hope she makes a full and speedy recovery.

Why drag this up again?

Specialist medical therapies cost a fortune, and whilst it may be funded by the NHS, they always welcome additional funding from any source.
Why does it bother you?

who’s mandy robinson?

The young woman who was seriously injured in the M1 Crash in June.

Good luck to her. I hope she can benefit from it, if she needs cosmetic surgery or anything, it is more important for women than a man.

I am just pleased she survived and came out of the coma

It would be nice to have an update on how much the fund now stands at,for those including me who donated

Why?

If you donated, that should be enough. maybe you should contact the appeal organiser.

they are doing a truck run for her benefit in ireland
details will be on irish rigs.com dont know how to post link

Their will be no bill for Mandy while she’s in the uk, but I’m sure she is loking forward to getting back to the ROI where she will have to pay HUGE bills for her treatment and drugs. €50 everytime you go to the doctor plus prescriptions arent subsidised like they are in the uk, she could have to pay hundreds for drugs every week in Ireland.

It’s at moments like that they must realise that ‘the struggle’ for independence was so worthwhile…

would the treatment not be covered by health insurance, if there is any.

Yes! The struggle was worthwhile! And is still on going! :grimacing:
