Manchester tourist tax

I couldn’t quite believe what I was hearing on the radio this morning; from today Manchester council are levying a tourist tax, anybody booking a hotel room in the city will pay a £1 tourist charge.

The sad reality is that the majority of people will simply raise their eyebrows and simply pay the one pound. I wouldn’t though, purely out of principle. Tourism brings vast amounts of money to the city so why on earth would they do anything that may discourage that? Simple really, they are gambling on the fact that people will simply grumble and pay up.

How refreshing would it be to hear that at the end of the first week of this farce that not a single hotel room had been booked all week? It’s about time we voted these lunatics out of office.

So that will hit the home fan match attendance at Man United

^^^^ very good   you can’t expect them to travel from Surrey and back again in the same day!
