Manchester - Skegness route idea?

Anyone suggest a decent route Manchester - Skegness?

Going in a small van on a Saturday so weight/height restrictions not a problem!

Thanks in advance

Dan

depending on where in Manchester.

A628 to M1
M1 south then take A57 to Lincoln
Skegness signposted from there.

The start point is near to the M60/M62/M602 junction the Eccles interchange.

Thanks Redline that was the plan but just seeing if anyone knows better!

Lincoln-Skegness on A158 via Horncastle will bring you into the top (Northern) end of Skeggy, if you want the south or west end avoid the town centre with an artic.

Your other option which gives you more miles on motorways and less on single carriageways is M62 over the pennines then M18 M180 A18 A16 A1028 A158. I’ve also just stuck it into Autoroute and coincidentally that’s the route it’s given me.

Thanks guys - repton thats the route we did last time we went but have been toying with the idea of going over the woodhead - just wasn’t to sure if it was recommened - Does anyone know whta the traffic is likely to be like doing it A628/M1/A57 route?

Woodhead’s the way I’d choose, but I hate motorways.
You can come unstuck if that way if there is the slightest blockage.

Salut, David.
