Management Speak

for Recession.

The food division has been operating with higher than anticipated levels of stock over the summer, as consumer demand for ambient groceries has been more subdued than anticipated by our customers

This was probably written by one of those people with a non job, or some spotty little teenager fresh out of business school, they have to do something to justify their existence :unamused:

When I was at TRUCK mag we used to get a lot of press releases from manufacturers and the RHA/FTA etc, they’d send out these glossy 4 page pamphlets full of long words, when all they really said was, for example, we have added a bit of chequer plate to the top of a battery box cover

Nah, this type of management-speak has always been around, witness the Emperor of Japan’s statement of surrender following the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki…

the war situation has developed not necessarily to Japan’s advantage

Could this be something to do with the practice of eating salads during the summer, which as most people know are a chilled item.
