MAN truck problems

So folks,

What are your main issues with the TG product
do you have difficulties getting repairs done right 1st time round??

I don’t run one but people who do say that the price of parts is ludicrously expensive.

Yes that is a common issue raised although look out for man value line offers

Man parts are way too dear, even when on offer, main dealers attitude to small hauliers is appalling, the smaller sub depots are much better but i cant get warranty work done there. So i have ended up taking a truck to worcester to get warranty work done when there is. Dealer in glos, we are in glos, been up to worc to have the same warranty job done three times,my personal
Opinion is they dont want small hauliers who check the bills they want big fleet customers who just pass the bill for payment,. Had man come to my office and promise to sort lots of minor issues out, ■■■■ all been done. If ya want to know who to do it right look at volvo.

This is also the problem, been up to worc 3 times now with a water leak, last time sat, driver just rang me, low coolant warning light back on. Quality.

Had the same thing on a 2011 tgx.

Every new shape man i been in has computer malfunction warning light come on, tols them loads of times just gave up now.

I don’t run a m.a.n myself, but judging by the amount of negative comments you hear on this forum, I doubt I ever will!

dealer service to O.D,s is appalling, it took me from xmas to the 2nd week of March to get booked in to get a fault looked at, in the end i had to ring the regional manager and get him to intervene

Richmond, that’s shocking, what was up with your vehicle losing the coolant. My experience is that owner drivers are the better to deal with, the face to face contact, discussings on issues, information to aid diagnostics, it is far more valuable than the big contractors with agency drivers with no driving knowledge , the email booking systems and payment systems and the MD and TM who only talk to high rankers.

The garage that took from Xmas til 2weeks ago must be a busy garage ( not ) there is no way they can’t fit appointments in. Things in the Uk in man garages is not good

It is a shame, good cab let down by poor service ,all trucks go wrong its part of the game, how you sort it is the key ro selling me another one. When i bought it brand new it was 10k less than a fh 12, thats why theres lots of them about, but look at the resale value of them now, its through the floor, every week somebody asks to buy one of my fh12s off me, nobody mentions the mans…

i had an issue with my 57 plate TGA XXL loosing coolant, it turned out to be a heater hose under the drivers side of the cab that had rubbed through

as previously said, the parts are very expensive compared to other makes, but, fortunately, i have had very little trouble with both of the MAN’s that i run

as for the comment about the O/D’s getting worse service from the main dealers, i have found my local dealer to be very good regarding booking trucks in for work to be done
