Man, the Dartford crossing sucks

Really?? I don’t get why architects do this, how do they not for see what it will be like in 20 years time. As soon as anything is built, a tunnel or a bridge, within 10 years it’s out of date and the congestion problem is there again.
Why can’t they build a bridge or a tunnel and get ahead of the game by 50 years so they don’t have to touch it again.

It has been achieved, its called the M6 Toll. Now if they would just outlaw Electronic Cigarettes, there would never be a traffic jam on there.

Also, the Victorians did it with most of their engineering. The railways are ■■■■ because they are all Victorian initially and just modernaised rather than replaced with new. The sewers in London are starting to struggle because we have only recently reached the overcapacity that the Victorians built into the system.

The Victorian model of screwing the workers to fill the pockets of the bosses is still working fine, especially in this line of work!

Its a delay of no more than 20mins which i dont think is terrible.

If the French ran it, the you wouldn’t have to queue…they have tolls sorted, though there is of course less traffic…

The French don’t do queuing…      (except in Paris)

You still get queues at french tolls sometimes.

Apparently, if they made it free, too many people would use it and the jams would be worse…

So by that logic, it’s not a fee but another tax.

Yup!!! And something else for the Government to sell to foreign investors like everything else that’s been sold to the highest bidder!! :unamused:

I think im right in saying its owned by the French anyway.

I thought ENGLAND won the battle of trafalgar house? :unamused:

You’ve clearly never experienced the joys of queueing from Junction 3, or even 4 then

Had a (rare) blinding run this morning.

Left yard at Danbury 0645, to Harold Wood & load machine.

Tipped machine at Dartford next to the bridge.

Back at Danbury 0930.

No delay whatsoever.

Not that it happens very often but it was very nice.
