Really?? I don’t get why architects do this, how do they not for see what it will be like in 20 years time. As soon as anything is built, a tunnel or a bridge, within 10 years it’s out of date and the congestion problem is there again.
Why can’t they build a bridge or a tunnel and get ahead of the game by 50 years so they don’t have to touch it again.
It has been achieved, its called the M6 Toll. Now if they would just outlaw Electronic Cigarettes, there would never be a traffic jam on there.
Also, the Victorians did it with most of their engineering. The railways are ■■■■ because they are all Victorian initially and just modernaised rather than replaced with new. The sewers in London are starting to struggle because we have only recently reached the overcapacity that the Victorians built into the system.
The Victorian model of screwing the workers to fill the pockets of the bosses is still working fine, especially in this line of work!
