Man, that's nice!

At Orwell this morning I snapped this rather nice MAN TGX on its way to be delivered at Shuntrite in Felixstowe. Thought it was a nice day for some pics…

Great pics. I am a HUGE fan of the TGA and TGX/S ranges of MAN trucks. I just hope that someday I get to drive one.

Cheers

i dont like the look of the new grills… well in fact its not a grill anymore. :imp:

Yeah thats nice. Can’t imagine buying one thou.

New grill eh. Hope this one lifts better the the old model. Used to have to pull the lever above the throttle hold it then reach under the door and push the grill past the catch.
JUNK

Bit new for a shunter :open_mouth:

TC

a few stones will soon sort them grills out !!!.crazy idea

It may have a fancy grille but it’s still got that stupid windscreen

Plain boring white with a sticker as a livery too, nowhere near as nice as a proper colour scheme & a bit of signwriting, no phone number or address anywhere so what’s the point, probably looked good when it was drawn on the back of a gluten free vegan ready meal packet :open_mouth:

and there crap to drive :frowning: :frowning: :frowning: :frowning: :frowning: :frowning:

What a great looking lorry, it seem a shame to use it only as a yard shunter.

Heres one that I drove a bit earlier.

It had the same back lights on a couple of occasions and the gear stick was on the steering column, which looked like a Darlicks nose.

Send it down to Turkey for a couple of years, via the old Commie Block and you can have a paint job just like mine.

Are you mad■■?

The TGA is the biggest bag of rubbish I have ever had the misfortune to drive. :smiling_imp:
In fact , you can have mine. With pleasure. This week it has achieved a whopping 6.3mpg. Heap of Junk.

Felixstowe has its own semantics. Shuntrite is a firm, like many others, which hails itself as a ‘dock shunter’, which merely means that they pursue the business of shunting containers around the country. So the term ‘shunt’ is used a lot at docks in general, but it’s not the same as a yard shunter, a job for which (you may or may not agree) a brand new truck is over qualified!!

Anonymous decision reached so far then. man build a crap truck.

man did build good trucks the f2000 series and the old f series like the dow freight one above but the tga is a right pile of crap. the ones ive had experiance of av always had problems with em, dont get me wrong that tga does look nice but i wouldnt one

i like the livery, nice and simple, but not too keen on the new version of the truck, preferred the older one, not driven one so cant pass judgement on them, although my mate has one and reckons its great

I can only speak for myself, but i really liked my MAN TGA i had it brand new on an 02 plate. We had about 40 of them, and on the whole they were very well recieved by the drivers,of cause you will always get some people who dont like this or that, but the MANs went down very well.Unlike the new Scania R420s which are hated by almost everyone ( at our firm anyway ).

hey Kate. 6.3mpg works out to 45liters-@100 kms
what type of work are you doing and how old ,also
how many kms has it done, we have a lot of mans
in the firm where i work and they do much better
than that evcen with the, pto work,

They also failed to spell it in the correct Suffolk fashion, should be ‘Shuntroyte’!!!

PS I thought at the time those 2 guys in the first picture look like they’re up to somthing dodgy!

I’ll be honest, I really like the TGX.

…and have you seen the interior?!

Looks more like something you’d get in an Audi.

An Audi  .When I saw the picture of the interior the word Helicopter
sprung to mind :sunglasses: I bet it can fly along though.

( O.K. I had better mention that helicopters dont have
steering wheels before some body points that remark out.)
