Why not just put the side and hazard lights on and do a walkround?.
The hazard lights don’t always tell you the indicators are fine. I have used vehicles where on the checks the 4-ways worked but the indicators on one side did not. All that switching the hazards on does is tell you if all the bulbs are good or not.

I still don’t see the advantage
My system in the stone age was to
turn on all lights including rear fog, headlights dipped
engage reverse (engine off, ignition on)
wedge brake pedal on
walk around and check visually
return to cab and flick to high beam
turn off hazards and try indicators separately (using dash tell tales or mirror if it was dark)
Incorporated in the walk round was the usual tyre, body, 5th wheel etc.
As far as I can see apart from wedging the brake pedal down you save nothing by the gadget, just another thing to go wrong!
If I am missing something please put me straight.
Yes you are missing all that fannying about, the lights work alternately as you do your walk round, no room for jamming brake pedal, no need to return to cab,

I’ve had this happen too. Hazards worked fine but left indicator on it’s own didn’t. I’ve been told the hazards work on a different relay or something so it don’t guarantee the indicators work just because hazards do

i drove a volvo bus like that, hazards worked when i done my walkaround checks, went to pull out yard and left indicator didnt work, so reversed back in and got told hazards work seperately so they can be used in the event of a breakdown and wont flatten your battery, not sure how that works, surely it still uses the same power unless hazards have their own wee back up battery?
