MAN TGX 18.440 year 2012 adblue problem

I have MAN TGX 18.440 year 2012, Using for car carrier, had a flashing yellow engine light on for now and a message displayed saying emission control system fault after driving for 10mins or so.

What can go wrong if stays on… thanks

I doubt you would do much harm but is the adblue low? This is only injected into the exhaust stream aft of the turbo so its not going to harm your engine but would get it looked at none the less. It could also be an EGR valve problem or air mass meter fault…

No adblue is full, taking adblue as usual, engine power is good at the moment, only getting flashing engine light and message “Malfunction emissions control” on dashboard.

It could go into limp mode after a while.

If it goes to limp mode can this be recovered after that or not … Coz at this stage mechanic gave me bill of $17000 to repair (estimated cost)
