Hi i am staring a new jo and will be given A MAN rigid sleeper cab, has anyone had any experince of them good or bad?
Bed’s are crap. Turn up the radio to avoid hearing the warning beeps about non existant faults. Bring a screwdriver and some superglue to repair the interior trim. If it’s an auto switch to drive and start to accelerate 5 seconds before you want to.
They are comfortable, quiet and nice driving position, the chassis’ are good they just ran out of money when making the cab interior.
Compared to a Scania opti cruise I would have 1 any day of the week, powerful, auto box is 12 speed and skips a gear when it can, only slight issue you have to allow for is a poor turning lock really.

Really? Scania Opti Cruise (With clutch) is 100 times better than a MAN, hands down! The Scania gives you full control when reversing and setting off, the MAN gives you all or nothing.
Renault / Volvo would be the best auto boxes on the meerkat
The steering lock on MAN 8wheelers are good in my opinion. Good roadholding too.
No they are not (autos), because the gearbox, as described above, is a liability.
The lock on the 4 legers are poor to say the least
The 6 leg was better bet that might just be because I expected the qe2 turning cercal by then.
Drive it using the controls on the steering wheel and its a doddle to drive up or down in speed.
If you dab the throttle at junction before pull off time it will give better response and not the hmm 1,2,3 off we go
I would prefer an older ERF with eaton twin split though.
Although cab is Tupperware easy access to bed and lights/window control easy to reach from bed.
This assuming its 57 plate on.
the older ones Auto models had no kick down.
Oh don’t go in soft mud as the auto box will only dig in deeper, lol axle/side bars and fuel tank will go to ground, Boss not happy either then although he sent me.
