I have recently acquired a 97 truck but I’m struggling to get the cab tilted. I found water in the pump and drained it, fitted new flexi pipes and got the ram unbolted off the truck to go up and down. When back on the truck it lifts one side then stops. When I then turn the pump to lower it makes a big crack/bang sound then comes down. It’s like the cab lock isn’t letting it go. Any help Appreciated as it’s driving me mad!
Or if you know any decent mechanics in the Leeds area that would be good too.
It sounds like your guess is correct. You may well have to unbolt part of the A frame crossmember the rear of the cab sit on if you can’t get at the locks. Try using a mirror on a stick to see what has happened.
