MAN Hella Sockets

Does anyone happen to know what wattage the 24v hella socket is on an MAN TGX?

As far as I remember Watts are Volts x Amps. So if you know what fuse it has then times that by 24 you should get a maximum wattage figure.

i know its enought boil a kettle but not enough to run a microwave

hth

Thats exactly why I want to know. I want to order a kettle and dont want that will blow the fuses but dont want one that takes 4 hours to boil! :unamused:

They have two in the middle of the dash at the bottom, one is 180w the other is 300w. This is on an xxl not sure about the others.

Mine’s about as bog standard as they come (56plate btw). 24v 300w and 12v 180w could even take a picture as I’m sat waiting for 45mins to pass :unamused: only 3 to go now though :grimacing:

the 24v socket will boil a 24v kettle in about 5 mins, well enough for a cup of tea anyway, if you are doing the washing up it may take a bit longer :stuck_out_tongue:

It’s looking like 300w is the answer then . . . :sunglasses:

Ok so I’ve now discovered the ■■■ lighter in a MAN is also 24v but anyone know the wattage or amps its capable of?

Not 100% sure, the same I think but wouldn’t want to bet on it.

If it runs off a 10a then 10x24 would be 240w would it not? What size is the fuse that is wired to the ■■■ lighter?
It has already been said how to work it out, so do the math and you’ll know what it’s capable of.

Not that easy when the unit is 10 miles away :unamused:

You can just about get away with boiling a kettle off the 24v (15amp) socket but not off the ■■■ lighter (10 amp) socket.
