MAN F2000 - ERF ECS - Interior water leak help?

I drive an ERF ECS which has the same cab as the MAN F2000 which was made for donkeys years. All I want to know is if anybody who has ever driven one of these had a problem with rain water (I think) getting into the cab and soaking through the footwells on both sides ?
We have 2 units, both have this problem. The leak on mine looks to be running down , under the carpet on the engine hump and settling in the footwell.
Just thought I’d check with you guys before I take the carpet out (when I have time).
Cheers.

no i cant remember the footwells being wet, we had 3 off those nightfreight grey units[ is that the model your on about], but if i remember right after putting it through a truck wash the inside of the door windows used to be running with water, same as it would come in in really torrential rain hrough the door seals

Its one of these … its not the door seals, it runs down the engine hump ■■

Definately rain water?, heater matrix usually leaks down the engine hump and into the footwells, usually much worse on n/sthough?

Yep look at the heater matrix or the pipes through the bulkhead to it!

Yes it is worse on the passenger side.
What is the ‘Heater Matrix’ ? and what does it look like ?
Cheers.

My 1st thought
My MAN used to go through heater matixes matrii? on piece

It looks like a radiator, but works in reverse, supplying the hot air for your heater

The heater matrix (or radiator) is burried in your dash. Follow the cables from your heater controls, it should be near the other end of those. It is just another rad, and hooked up to the engine in exactly the same way. The only difference is that the fan blows the hot air into the truck, rather than away from it (assuming the controls work and are set right… which isn’t a given on many trucks…)

If its from the heater matrix it will likely be accompanied by a very noticeable smell.

You can bypass it by joining the 2 heater hoses under grille at n/s/f together, if it stops your matrix or control valve is leaking. they’re a bit of a pain to change mind. :grimacing:

Cheers fellas. Not had time to look since posting (broke down twice !!). There is an odd smell but I’m used to it and put it down to the smell of the truck. I’ll let you know when I delve behind the dash.
