The offside electric window on my 06 MAN has been making loud grinding noises as its going up and down for the last 4 months or so. As a typically tight OD I’ve left it and left it thinking it could still last forever…,and it hasn’t!!
Put it down this morning at Humber Bridge toll and it wouldn’t go back up. Bloody typical as its ■■■■■■■ down! Anyway I’ve managed to get it back up now by teasing the button for a while! I’ve heard the regulators for these things are about £300 which seems a bit steep. Anyone had this happen before and know of a cheaper way to get sorted?! Your help would be appreciated. Cheers.
Swap the offside regulator for the nearside regulator, they are the same part
If you want/need both windows working, give Lawman Commercials a call, they are a specialist MAN breaker from Merry Lees, Leicestershire, they will probably have a good 2nd hand part
If you swap I usually hold the glass up with a specially cut piece of wood, or something, and leave the door card stripped out until the right-priced part pops up so it’s a quick install.
You think maybe you can live without it working but you’ll soon get cheesed off with having to get out to wipe the mirrors.
