I have an ecas 03101-09 fault code that keeps coming up. Anybody with any experience on this or advice please? MAN 2005 TGA.
From truck-manuals.net/man-fault … odes-ecas/
03101 Left rear axle level sensor.
Without knowing what the 09 is for your choices are either failing sensor, the lever having become detached, or dodgy wiring/crap in connector. I think I’d be checking the lever is still connected and it can move freely and inspect the connector for dirt and water ingress first on something that old. If you have the ability to read the live data from the sensor get someone to move the lever on it up and down and see if there’s a change in value.
If you have to fit a new one it’ll need to be calibrated with the normal ride height, upper and lower stop levels so if you’ve not got the diagnostic equipment to do it you’re probably better just booking it into MAN and getting them to fix it.
Hi Conor, thanks for the information. It is also showing fault code 03102. How likely is it that both side’s sensors have gone at the same time?

If they’re the originals they’ll be the same age but you’d not really expect them to fail simultaneously however if it’s had the warning light on for a while then one could have failed and the other side failed before you managed to get the codes read.
With them both gone though it does throw up the possibility of a wiring loom issue too but without testing each sensor individually you won’t know. Looking at some pictures of a sensor it looks like it’s a 2 pin connector so they’re basically like a variable resistor in which case to test whether it’s working you get a multimeter, put it on ohms range, put a probe on each pin and measure the resistance whilst moving the arm up and down. You should see it move throughout the range smoothly. If there’s any point in the movement where it shows zero ohms or open circuit other than at one end or the other of the full range of travel then it’s knackered.
Thanks Conor. I’ll certainy have a look at your suggestions.
