Hi guys,any of you drive a MAN and have had problems with drivers door not closing. Fitter in depot says its a common fault and he can’t do anything about it. Any ideas

Common Fault or not. You cant keep the Door open when driving.

Common problem, they are ■■■■. Depending how bad it is, I assume it’s dropped? Get a wooden block or lump hammer and put in the hinge area at the bottom of the door. GENTLY try to close the door with care and this bends the hinge back. It is not fool proof and is not a permanent fix, but short term will help.

If you know how to do it 
It has to bend the right Way or it would get worse. Best were a Youtube Video showing it.
The top edge of the catch gets worn creating a lip (caused by the door dropping on its hinges). After a while when you open the door the catch jams on the lip so doesn’t drop down when the door is shut. Had this on a couple of 11 plates.
