The 29 year old was three times over the legal limit for alcohol in the blood

A driver was finally stopped on the motorway in Rincón de la Victoria yesterday after driving seven kilometres down the wrong carriageway of the Autovia del Mediterráneo, the A7.

The 29 year old was driving towards Torremolinos facing oncoming traffic heading towards Vélez-Málaga.

Police have not named the 29 year old, but say that he was drunk, three times over the legal limit, but consider it a miracle that there was no accident or injuries.

They say it is unusual for someone to drive so far down the wrong carriageway.
